YU XU TAOIST

ASSOCIATION

is dedicated to preserving and promoting Taoism, one of China's oldest spiritual traditions. Originally founded as a private temple by Grand Master Tan Khoon Yong in 1984 and later formalized as an association in 1996, it aims to support the community through spiritual guidance and education about the true essence of Taoism. In 1997, it was officially recognized under the Quan Zhen Hua Shan Sect, and in 2009, the temple was renamed Yu Xu Palace. The Association is currently working toward establishing a fully equipped centre to serve its members and continue its cultural mission. Support through donations not only aids this cause but also carries blessings for future generations.

Taoism and Yu Xu Palace

Yu Xu Taoist Association's Core Objectives:

Promote Taoism and its relevant culture.

Offer a conducive environment for the learning of Tao culture and spirit.

Provide spiritual help to devotees and the needy.

Inculcate the spirit of racial and religious harmony in members.

Organise and participate in welfare services for the society.

Taoism regards The Three Purities (the Supreme Pure One, the Jade Pure One and the Grand Pure One) as the highest powers in the Taoist pantheon. Ever since the appearance of Zhang Daoling in the later Eastern Han Dynasty, the Ancestral Deities of Taoism was the main deity being worshipped in all Taoist schools and sects. Taoism is subdivided into the branches of “Philosophical Taoism” and “Religious Taoism”. Initially, Yu Xu Palace was categorised under the branch of Philosophical Taoism. Still, after the religion was brought into Singapore, it took Religious Taoism as its fundamental belief and Philosophical Taoism as the path to attaining the highest state of spiritual enlightenment.

Deities that were worshipped in traditional Taoism were San Qing Si Yu and Wu Lao Qi Zhen. However, apart form San Qing Si Yu, Yu Xu Palace (Singapore) also came under the instructions of the Three Saints (Tai Shang Lao Jun, Yuan Shu Tian Zun, Tong Tian Jiao Zhu), with the Twelve Ultimate Deities as the main deities of worship. In addition, Yu Xu Palace also worships the Tau Sui, respective Gods of Fortune, Dragon Deity, Tiger Deity, Earth Deity, Silver Deity, Gold Seity and Dragon God. Yu Xu Palace also practises the twelve bows and twenty-four kneels instead of the classical three kneels and nine kowtows.

The Three Purities and 12 Deities

Taoism regards The Three Purities (the Supreme Pure One, the Jade Pure One and the Grand Pure One) as the highest powers in the Taoist pantheon. Ever since the appearance of Zhang Daoling in the later Eastern Han Dynasty, the Ancestral Deities of Taoism was the main deity being worshipped in all Taoist schools and sects. Consecration

If you want to worship deities at home, the idol needs to be consecrated. This will bring spiritual sustenance to the whole family and tranquillity can also ensure the peace and success of a family.

The ritual of consecration is of great importance, and it is suggested that a Master should be assigned to conduct the ritual.

Groundbreaking

The groundbreaking ceremony refers to the ceremony held at the beginning of the construction of some important buildings, such as buildings, venues, and housing.

On this important day, it is necessary to consult the master to choose an auspicious day to hold the ceremony. After the ceremony is over, you can start construction or renovation.

Purification of Deities

At the end of each year, it believes that the deities depart on the 23rd day or 24th day of the 12th Lunar Month.

Cleaning of deities is a form of welcoming the deities for the coming lunar new year, provides blessing and protection to the family members.

Onsite Consultation

Magnetic forces are present in various settings and spaces we are living in. When the magnetic forces are so intense and unstable for us to manage effectively, it may cause us to feel unsettled or create hallucinations. Over prolonged period of time, this may in turn have an adverse impact on our luck and fortune.

If you feel you might be facing with the above concerns, you may consider contacting us. We will assess individual situations and provide the necessary onsite advice, prayers, and spiritual blessing.

Discontinuation of Worshipping

As the saying goes, “To receive the God, one must be able to send the God off as well”.

Devotees often have doubts in this regard. Deities are like guests invited at home. If for some reason deities can no longer be worshipped at home, they must be sent off respectfully. They must not be broken or thrown away inappropriately.

Personal Consultation

When our body, mind and soul (spirit) are in an optimal state, we often feel enthusiastic and energized and that our well being is generally positive. The spirit is an abstract concept but to explain its importance to our well-being, we can view it as an existence in the form of magnetic fields housed within our brains. Therefore, when we cannot control the magnetic fields effectively, external magnetic fields which are harmful may clash with our internal magnetic fields, hence disrupting our mental state. Over a prolonged period, we may experience unsettling thoughts or create hallucinations. This may in turn have an adverse impact on our luck and fortune.

If you are encountering the above concerns, you may consider contact us.
